Food in School
Welcome to the School Food page. Here at Scholes Village Primary the catering is provided by Kirklees Catering
Services who hold the prestigious Food For Life silver catering mark. We offer a two choice menu with a salad bar and
children choose which meal they would like each morning during registration.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy lunch where all the children join together. We have regular theme days to celebrate special events, these have included Chinese New Year, St Georges Day, Tour de France, Bonfire night and my favourites – Christmas dinner day and the Summer Picnic! We even have visits from Munch the Dragon to highlight the importance of eating healthy foods, some of which are grown and provided by the children themselves.

MILK IN SCHOOL
Did you know our school has a school milk scheme, provided by Cool Milk?
By registering your child for our school milk scheme they will receive a 189ml (third of a pint) carton of semi-skimmed milk
every day. This is delivered fresh and chilled to their classroom every day.
How much does it cost?
Thanks to government subsidies, school milk is free for all under-fives and is subsided at around £18 a term for children aged five or older.
How do I register my child?
If your child is under five-
- Go to www.coolmilk.com/register.
- Complete your registration by 5pm Tuesday for your child’s free milk to start the following week
If your child is over five-
- Go to www.coolmilk.com/register.
- Pay Cool Milk online.
- Just pay by 5pm on a Tuesday for the child’s milk to start the following week.
